Pension increase as of July 1, 2025: Plus 3.74% for millions of retirees 
From July 1, 2025, statutory pensions will increase by 3.74%. The Federal Cabinet has approved the corresponding ordinance - it will take final effect following approval by the Bundesrat. The basis for this is the positive wage development and the statutory pension level of 48%. A standard pension will therefore increase by around 66 euros per month.
04.22.2025NRW tests AI in tax processing - faster notices for citizens
From May 2025, the North Rhine-Westphalia tax authorities will launch a pilot project using artificial intelligence to support tax assessment. An AI module will be used in four tax offices (Brühl, Bielefeld-Außenstadt, Hamm and Lübbecke) to automatically recognize and process simple tax cases. The aim is to issue notices more quickly and reduce the workload for case processing.
09.11.2024E-bill: e-mail inbox is sufficient
In future, it will be sufficient to provide an e-mail inbox to receive an e-bill. This is explained by the Federal Government in its answer (20/12742) to a minor question from the CDU/CSU parliamentary group (20/12563). However, the companies involved can also agree on other electronic transmission channels.
